My Quiet Space: June 2006

Hmm... The penny was a no show. At least I think it was...

Very soon after the penny incident we contracted the black plague from the daughter of one of Mark's friends. Last week she came to play with the girls while her dad went to work on a customers car with Mark, and her brothers rode horses. She asked if I had anything for stomach upset . I said "No, why?". She said "I'm having really bad diarrhea.. it's been happening all day." Not too long after that she was asking for a blanket because she was cold...
Two days later, the day before Bethany's scheduled B-day party, I was awakened by Heather calmly stating "Bethany just puked all over the bed."
From then on I wasn't following Bethany to the bathroom, and Misty was infected pretty soon after. I'm sure if Bethany hadn't passed the penny she wouldn't have been able to poo.. and she did that plenty.

Still waiting for the penny to pass....

Is it insane for me to consider cleaning it off, (assuming it's easy to access) bag it in a ziplock and keep it in her baby book?
I ask this because she was appalled when I mentioned doing this to her daddy. "I DON'T want a poopy penny in my baby book!!!"

Maybe I'll hide it with all the teeth the tooth fairy has collected over the years..

Bethany swallowed a penny today.. She was pretty upset about it. When she told me she had swallowed it she had that look of "crap, she was right about not putting money in my mouth. I'm freaking out, but I'm not sure why, or what's going to happen, but now I'm going to have to admit it." The nice man with poison control said to let her drink and watch for signs of obstruction.
She's been able to swallow lots of water, a peanut butter/jelly sammich, a grilled drumstick, more water, and some milk. She's very anxious for things to pass on through.

Bethany is convinced that she can make "Heart eyes" at us. She will look at us and stare real intently, almost as though she's straining her whole body. The first time she did it, I thought she was fixing to go to into a seizure of some sort. I said "Beth, are you OK?", "Yup! I'm loving you with my heart eyes!"
We tell her that we can see her heart eyes.
The bad thing is, when we have a visitor and she gives them heart eyes, they don't know why she's looking at them like a psychotic killer.

Speaking of psychotic, todays date has brought about a lot of controversy. The release of the remake of "The Omen". I checked out Babycenter.com's June 06 board. I saw that quite a few moms were concerned about delivering on that date. I started picturing headlines. (I'm weird like that)
"Scientoligst's wife who delivered on 666 suffered PPD and was convinced child was the devil"
