A very ADD update..
Feeling really bad about the 4th of July now that I know who called... It was a neighbor who lives pretty far up the road. Apparently one of the neighbors is a miserable pregnant woman. Mark found out from a longtime customer of his that happens to work with her husband.
Hannah went back to college the 15th. She's staying in a VERY nice quad. Here are a few pics...
Heather is doing fairy well. She's been having some problems with her white blood cells. They are VERY low. She didn't get to go to the dentist with her sisters, and there was talk that she may not get to go back to school. We'll find out for sure tomorrow when we visit the hematology clinic at Children's Medical Center in Dallas.
If she does get to go she will be required to wear a mask from the time she leaves the house in the morning, until she gets home. She may decide, depending on peer reactions, whether or not she wants to continue on, or be homebound.
Heather made this little rope swing in a secluded little area on our property... she's quite the little engineer.
She has gotten to reduce her sodium intake to 6 grams a day. She was taking 14 grams, then down to 10 grams for a while. The renal Dr. is hoping to wean her completely off the sodium chloride tablets. Just FYI.. The recommended upper limit of sodium for adults and children more than 4 years of age is 2,400 milligrams per day. There are 1,000 milligrams in each one of her 1 gram tabs. Unfortunately for her kidney's, and blood pressure, the salt is necessary for staying hydrated after losing her large intestine, which a lot of salts, and liquids are absorbed through.
The hottub is no longer being used. We had set it up right before july 4th in hopes of relieving Heather's arthritis pain that's pretty hard to handle as most meds irritate her already damaged liver. Unfortunately, when you are sitting in water, you have no idea how much you are sweating.. when you are running around with dad to get parts, and playing with friends... trying to be a normal teen... you don't drink quite often as you should. In Mid july she had to be admitted again to get her rehydrated. She was dangerously close to renal shutdown. I wasn't with her when she was admitted.. all of the girls had gone for the first time in years to stay with their paternal grandmother. I've always been able to tell when she looks like she hasn't been drinking enough. I could tell that she wasn't and told her she had to promise me to drink plenty while she was gone. She had been putting off a lot of bile, and apparently all the bile loss was making it impossible to get hydrated. No matter how much she drank. I believe being dehydrated from all that caused nausea.. Once she started vomiting it was out of control. I asked my MIL to please take her to the ER ASAP.. I felt horrible because she was already exhausted from her trip home, stressed about what was going on, and Crista, Bethany, and Misty had to stay at her house alone.
Misty will not be starting pre-k... Her daddy is just not ready for her to go just yet. Quite frankly, I guess I'm not ready for my baby to grow up yet either.

add response: I LOVE that pic of Misty! I hope you get good news at the doc appt. I'm not sure exactly what to hope for about Heather and school...Of course it would be great for her to be in school with her friends, but not if it endangers her chances of a timely transplant. Great swing, though! And I hope Hannah enjoys the quad...looks great, and I hope she's enjoying college!
Miss you!
great pics of the girls as usual!
Sorry your young lady had to be readmitted, I hope she's doing good now. the quad DOES look great, can I move in too? :)
